Spare Set of D2 Rolls for IRM Model 2050 2-High Laboratory Rolling Mill

This spare roll set provides a matched pair of precision-ground work rolls for the IRM Model 2050 2-High Laboratory Rolling Mill. The set is intended primarily for cold rolling of strip and sheet while retaining the capability for limited hot rolling of small samples in research and process-development applications.

The rolls are manufactured from D2 cold-work tool steel, hardened to approximately 60–62 Rockwell C. D2 was selected for its wear resistance and dimensional stability, making it well suited for cold rolling applications. While D2 does not retain hardness at elevated temperatures as well as M2, the relatively small sample sizes typical of laboratory work can limit heat transfer into the rolls during hot rolling. As a result, D2 is a practical and more cost-effective choice for applications where cold rolling is the primary process and hot rolling requirements are limited.

This spare roll set will be precision ground to match the customer's existing roll geometry. Final dimensions will be confirmed following inspection of the customer's current roll set.
