Vollmer VABL 7098 Width & Thickness Contact Gauge
Serial P97/14341-Z1-B
International Rolling Mills currently has available a Vollmer VABL 7098 contact width and thickness gauge, originally manufactured in Germany and designed for high-precision strip measurement applications.
This unit is part of Vollmer’s VABL contact gauge platform (predecessor to the VBK series) and utilizes dual LVDT-based transducer measurement for accurate strip thickness and width control.
Specifications (Per Original Vollmer Documentation)
Strip Width Range: 1.25 – 63 mm
Strip Thickness Range: 0.0125 – 6 mm
Measurement Type: Contact (dual transducer “sum” system)
Manufacturer: Vollmer Feinmeßgerätebau – Germany
Year: 1998
Serial: P97/14341-Z1-B
Original Vollmer engineering documentation tied to this serial number is included.
Applications
This Vollmer contact thickness gauge is suitable for precision strip measurement in:
Metal strip processing
Wire flattening lines
Rolling mills
Slitting lines
Laboratory R&D environments
Superconductor and specialty alloy production
Contact gauges of this type are commonly used where high repeatability and stable LVDT-based measurement are required for thin strip and precision materials.
Compatibility
The VABL 7098 gauge head is designed to operate with Vollmer VMF series measurement amplifiers.
Condition
This unit was removed from service in running condition. However, we are not currently set up to bench test contact gauge systems. The gauge is offered in as-is condition.
Value Perspective
This pre-owned VABL 7098 represents a significant cost savings for facilities seeking precision measurement capability at a fraction of new replacement cost.
