Slitting Machines

1 ¾" diameter with .250" keyway x 18" long arbor. This will include entry guiding system and exiting table. General machinery specifications with specific notes to follow:

One IRM Model 17518 precision slitter capable of slitting a width of up to 18" wide strip. The slitter is equipped with two parallel hardened slitting arbors exactly 1.750" in diameter with .250" square keys the entire usable length. These shafts are parallel, concentric, heat treated, hardened and finish ground, square to the locating shoulders within .0001" T.I.R. The shafts have spanner or hardened hex take up nuts for the outboard end for tightening up the slitter assemblies.

Note: Arbor length will be 19" long. Arbor will have ¾" high shoulders with ¼" undercut.

The bottom shaft is fixed and the upper shaft will be mounted in a precision "eccentric bearing" and bushings housing. The total offset eccentric of the upper shaft is .375" exactly at the inner and outboard mountings. The theoretical center line is to be 3.625.

The outboard bearing/shaft housing will be precision machined and center-keyed onto the mill top plate.

Note: This machine is tailored to customer's specifications.

Machine is powered by 3HP DC motor to deliver speed of approximately 160 Ftpm.

Machinery Guarantee: One year parts and labor or if machine is proven to have a defect within 18 months from date of shipment.

The slitter is equipped with two parallel hardened slitting arbors exactly 2.000" in diameter with .250" square keys the entire usable length. These shafts are parallel, concentric, heat treated, hardened and finish ground, square to the locating shoulders within .0001" T.I.R. The shafts have spanner or hardened hex take up nuts for the outboard end for tightening up the slitter assemblies.

Note: Arbor length will be 9" long. Arbor will have ¾" high shoulders with ¼" undercut.

This highly productive slitting line is the state of the art for precision slitting of coil metal. We supply separating discs or collapsible mandrels and uncoilers tailored to your specs.

Arbor Size:	2-5/8" x 14" with 3/8" keyway
Main Drive:	7 1/2 hp DC variable speed gear motor 0-500 fpm. All solid state controls with operator station.
Recoilers:	Two stations with 2" diameter arbors driven by 10" diameter Horton Air SLI clutches; maximum size O.D. coil 36" on each arbor.
Entry Guide:	Set to adjust for lateral alignment while holding strips under tension and inside guide plates. Adjustment of top arbor is through precision built eccentric cam type holder which contains precision needle bearings.

14" wide x 2 5/8" diameter arbors with 1/2" keyway. The slitter can be built tailored for your requirements. The one shown in the photos has a 15 HP DC variable speed motor to deliver a working speed of up to 200+ FPM at full load. The recoiling station is mounted on a common base and it is capable of recoiling up to 6,000 lbs. The recoiler is equipped with an hydraulic overarm separator and it is also equipped with a coil push-off system as well as a traversing scrap winder with a double cone mandrel. Tension on the recoiler is supplied by a 14" diameter heavy duty air clutch.

Engineered to slit all types of very thin gauge strip to extremely close tolerances. The unique design of the model 310 provides high quality burr-free edges, and accurate dimensions in production run operations.

This precision slitting line is used to cut narrow width, multiple strips of light gauge metal sheet, burr free, in coil form. It is equipped with a double recoiler with air operated clutch, variable speed, solid state D.C. motor, recoiler mandrels with separate disks, uncoiler with tension control, and all electronics and operator station.

Tooling available from stock or specially ordered to size. Spacers come with rubber vulcanized or rubber can be purchased separately.
